Checklist (research frame)
- Unclear offer. Visitor cannot say in one sentence what they get and for whom.
- Multiple CTAs. Competing buttons (buy / book / subscribe / social) dilute the next step.
- Proof theater. Fake testimonials, invented star ratings, or “as seen in” without substance — we avoid those on Affairs too.
- Form before value. Long gated forms with no sample of the lead magnet (see lead magnet FAQ).
- Tool-first rebuild. Migrating builders before the headline and offer are stable (see landing builder and switching).
- No mobile pass. Unreadable type, tiny tap targets, or a checkout that breaks on phone.
- Missing disclosure. Affiliate or sponsored recommendations without an above-fold note.
Fix order (before buying another tool)
- Rewrite headline + subhead for one audience and one outcome.
- Pick one primary CTA; move secondary links below the fold.
- Replace vague claims with specifics you can stand behind (features, scope, refund policy) — still no fabricated social proof.
- Then decide DIY vs builder vs AIO — see checkout vs funnel and vs DIY.
systeme.io-shaped tools can host a simple landing + email path; that does not fix a muddy offer. Research placeholder (checked 11 Sep 2026).
